Swindon-based workspace developer Kerr Office Group has announced the internal appointment of Alex Kerr as CEO alongside two key managerial hires to further business development, safety, and sustainability on the back of significant business growth.

Alex Kerr has been involved in the family business for over fifteen years - having started as a project manager in 2007, before leading the day-to-day operations as chief operating officer from 2020.

Alex’s father, Jonathan Kerr, who founded the company in 1986, will now step into a customer service role with a focus on nurturing the relationships he has built over the last thirty-six years.

A busy month of recruitment has also seen the appointment of Jon Horwood who joins the growing team to spearhead expansion as business development manager.

Jon has worked across several industries, including media, publishing, and advertising. His focus will be to drive revenue and fuel company growth.

Simon Curl also joins as safety and environmental manager. Simon joins the team from Japanese multinational, Honda.

The role will see him ensuring that both health and safety risks are identified, assessed, and managed, whilst driving Kerr’s Kerr sustainability mission to continue to source materials responsibly and repurposing materials where possible.

This news comes on the back of Kerr's biggest project win to date: it has been awarded the opportunity to redevelop the 80,000 sq ft regional headquarters of Grant UK.

Kerr will create a modern workspace focused on collaboration, with areas for wellness and headspace, for Grant’s employees.

Alex Kerr said: "I am delighted to welcome both Jon and Simon to strengthen our growing team.

"Their track records and depth of experience. within their respective fields, will prove invaluable as we continue to grow our business.”
