Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has brought a 2.5-acre (1 hectare) leasehold site with secured grid connection for a 49.5MW battery development in Iver, Buckinghamshire, to market on behalf of a private landowner.

Directly adjacent to the Iver 66kV GSP Substation, the site is bordered by the M25 to the west. The land is also adjacent to sand and stone workings, including large ponds and open quarries.

Clare Davey, senior energy specialist, Carter Jonas said: “The site benefits from excellent transport links, a close proximity to Iver substation and is also level land. This marks it as an ideal location for a new battery facility within a constrained grid network and these attributes should make it an attractive proposition to developers and investors. We expect to receive a high level of interest in the site.”

The site forms part of Mansfield Farm which is mainly used for arable farming. The leasehold area is proposed to include land for the battery units, ancillary infrastructure, access, services to the Point of Connection on Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks network and security measures. The tenant will need to obtain planning permission for the battery development from South Bucks District Council.
