The Housebuilder of the Year award is sponsored by Gateley Legal. The firm employs 150 property professionals across the Thames Valley.
This category will award a specific housing development in the Thames Valley that stands out from the competition. Size doesn’t matter: Judges will consider small brownfield developments and large housing estates. The entry could be an innovative conversion of a building, Permitted Development (PD) schemes are also eligible.
Andy Wilson, Partner, Gateley Legal, said: "Gateley Legal has sponsored this award for the last seven years since we first established our office in Reading.
"As a company we are actively involved in the Thames Valley business community and highly experienced in working for a wide range of housebuilders. We preside over more than 14,000 plot sales per annum across the UK.
"We believe it is a natural fit for us to sponsor the award for the region’s Residential Development of the Year. We are delighted to be doing so again for 2022. It is both rewarding and exciting to be involved with some great housebuilders and construction teams who operate with such creativity and technical skill and improve the housing opportunities for people living in the Thames Valley."
Judges will be looking for evidence of good design, environmental impact, sustainability, and whether the scheme has overcome unusual challenges and site constraints.
Asked what would make the difference between a nominee and the award winner? Andy answered: "We are looking for a development that uses creative flair to offer the best in house design with the latest quality building and construction techniques, including ways of improving sustainability and energy-saving features for the homeowner.
"Consideration of protecting the surrounding area and environment, plant and wildlife, should also be demonstrated in entries for this category."
Adam continued: "Gateley has considerable experience of acting for a wide range of housebuilders and developers and we very much enjoy being involved in the abundance of great and exciting developments in this region.
"Our history and continued involvement with the Thames Valley housebuilding sector is the reason we chose to become involved with the Thames Valley Property Awards and sponsor the Residential Development of the Year category. We very much look forward to being involved in this year’s awards."
