A healthtech company whose software helps reduce the number of "missed" appointments, has set up its UK headquarters at Witney Business & Innovation Centre.

Visiba says it is poised to play a pivotal role in helping the NHS free-up clinician time in addition to offering a streamlined approach to rolling out the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the NHS, 15 million general practice appointments are being wasted each year because patients didn’t turn up, costing more than £216million.

Visiba’s software platform, Visiba Care, can reduce the number of ‘missed’ appointments and wasted healthcare professional hours by enabling hospitals and other healthcare services to offer a simple online solution for booking and administering routine patient appointments.

Visiba’s own research has also revealed that around one in three routine hospital appointments for outpatients could be done online, saving the NHS nearly half a billion pounds every year.

Tina Marshall, UK Country Manager at Visiba, said: “With both the economy and NHS looking to reset in the wake of the pandemic, harnessing the known gains of shifting to digital appointments could play a huge role in relieving pressures on the NHS and wider workforce.”

Founded in 2014 by four Swedish entrepreneurs, Visiba appointed Tina Marshall to lead the UK division because of her healthcare experience, determination to make a difference and her Oxfordshire roots.

The company has taken a 409 sq. ft. office at Witney BIC and is actively recruiting sales staff with ambitious growth plans that will see the company more than double its size in the next two years.

Witney BIC is owned by The Blenheim Estate and is managed by the UK’s leading provider of business & innovation centres, Oxford Innovation.

Alli Keene, Centre Manager, Witney BIC, added: “We are pleased to support Tina and her Visiba Care team in their important mission to ease the burden on our NHS, which really could be critical as as we progress beyond lockdown. We look forward to welcoming her new recruits to the Oxford Innovation family next year and will continue to provide the flexibility and support to assist with Visiba’s growth.”

Visiba is already working with primary care, secondary care and integrated care providers, offering a digital solution for large healthcare organisations through to SMEs to deliver a patient centric approach to healthcare.
