A deal worth £100 million has been agreed with leading developer Lovell Partnerships and Homes England which will provide more than 400 new homes at a former Ministry of Defence site near Andover.

The former Defence Medical Equipment Depot (DMED) in Ludgershall will provide a mix of affordable and open market homes along with significant training opportunities and investment for the local economy.

Lovell’s South West and South Wales region will work on the site, named Drummond Park. This scheme, which has a gross development value of £107,5151,719, will deliver 413 homes, 25% of which will be affordable.

Work will commence on the project, in June next year and will take approximately six years to complete.

Lovell has been working closely with Wiltshire Council and Homes England to develop a scheme appropriate for this site

James Duffett, regional managing director for Lovell South Wales and South West, commented: “This site will provide much needed homes for the community along with jobs and investment.

“We would like to thank Homes England for the work done to ensure that we were able to purchase the site quickly, enabling us to get started on the planning process.”
