Greiner Bio-One’s new UK office and warehouse reaches practical completion

Developer Robert Hitchins has successfully delivered a brand new multi-million-pound office and warehouse facility near Stroud for global manufacturer Greiner Bio-One.

Construction of the 53,500 sq ft development at the Stroudwater 13 Business Park in Stonehouse began In January and has now reached practical completion and is ready for fit-out.
Greiner Bio-One is relocating from nearby Stroudwater Business Park where it has been operating since 1996. The new facility will double the size of its current warehouse space, allowing for future growth of the business.

The company specialises in the development, production and distribution of high-quality laboratory and clinical products and is a technology partner for hospitals, laboratories, universities, research institutes, and the diagnostic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Shabir Ahmed (Managing Director) said: “We are absolutely delighted to have the keys to our new UK facility. It means that we can start the next phase of delivering a site that will accommodate future growth and development of Greiner Bio-One in the UK and enable us to serve the needs of our varied customers for many years to come.”

Michael Plimmer, Senior Development Manager at Robert Hitchins, was pleased to hand over the new unit which sits on a six-acre employment site, close to J13 of the M5 and just off the A419.

“It is some time since a new industrial unit of size has been brought forward by a developer in Stonehouse. It has been great to have partnered with Greiner Bio-One at a very early stage to help deliver a building that truly meets their needs for now and the future,” he said.

“We’re glad to have been able to provide them with the platform to grow their business in the UK and to complement their operations in Europe and the rest of the world.”

Robert Hitchins has also achieved practical completion of another industrial unit alongside the Greiner Bio-One site at Stroudwater 13. The 22,000 sq ft facility is available to let or for sale through the Gloucester office of agents Alder King and Bristol office of Cushman & Wakefield.

Contractors for both units were Barnwood Ltd.
