Winnycroft is set in 15 acres and managing director of Barratt Bristol Rob Hart, talked with the pair about the scheme.
This included the support for first time buyers including for local NHS and other key workers - effectively amounting to £1,000 towards a deposit for every £20,000 spent on a home.
Also discussed was how energy efficiency measures could save families over £2,000 on their annual energy bills and community.
The development includes two sports pitches, play areas, allotments, a community building, and an orchard.
"Labour is committed to getting Britain building so young people from this area, like those we met on this visit, can achieve their dream of owning their own home," McIntyre said.
"Building in Britain means more skilled jobs in cities like Gloucester and I was delighted on this tour to meet with some of the skilled local workers on site including Barratt's apprentices.
"Having local powers for skills and working in partnership with business are key to breaking down the barriers to opportunity for every child in the city."
Barratt's Andrea Pilgrim noted: "Good quality sustainable housing is essential for areas like this one and Winnycroft, with its mix two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, is a prime example of what can be achieved and the communities we can help develop.
"Our key worker deposit contribution scheme ensures first time buyers can get on the housing ladder quickly and the response so far has been fantastic."
