The new board and shareholders at Fareham-based Amiri Construction have gained six major projects worth a total of £16.4 million in the first two months of 2017. Mark Vincent, business development director, said this was one of the best starts to the year experienced by the company since it was founded in 2005.

“We are delighted to gain a diverse range of projects including a residential estate, multimillion pound factory units, and a new visitor centre for a charitable trust near Chichester.  This is on top of seven projects currently either planned or well under construction,” said Vincent.

It was in December that the introduction of new shareholders and directors was announced. Managing director Grahame Pettit and fellow director Kevin Lendon, who founded the company, said that it was an important stage in Amiri Construction’s succession plans which gave key members of their 35 staff a greater role within the business, including directorships and five new shareholders at the head office at Segensworth.

Vincent added: “Brexit has delayed some decision-making on a few projects but the construction industry will always be resilient and an essential force within the economy. We are fortunate to have an excellent reputation with Architects and clients and consultants across the region”

The company is currently on site with projects valued between £1.m and £10m across a range of sectors including commercial, leisure and education  across Southern England.
