EnSilica, which was founded in 2001, develops custom application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and software design. ASICs are silicon chips made to perform a specific, repeated function effectively, as opposed to general chips which focus on adaptability with a penalty to efficiency (like GPUs and CPUs).
The firm works with a variety of companies ranging from startups to blue-chips in the industrial, healthcare, automotive, space and communications industries.
It’s new Milton Park home covers 5,800 square feet of space, consisting of offices, meeting rooms, laboratory space, social areas and kitchen facilities. It will also provide a space to host and welcome new and existing customers.
More than 35 of EnSilica’s 125 employees will be work from the new base, with space and plans to increase this number in the future.
Philip Campbell, Commercial Director at MEPC Milton Park, said: “We’re honoured that EnSilica has chosen Milton Park to be its worldwide headquarters as they continue to grow at tremendous speed.
“EnSilica’s desire for cross-sector collaboration greatly aligns with the ethos we’ve worked hard to cultivate at Milton Park, where plentiful opportunities exist for companies to share knowledge and collaborate with one another.
“We’re excited to see what the future holds for EnSilica and we’ll continue to support them in any way we can.”
