Electric car manufacturer Polestar has agreed to lease a 2,457 square foot unit at Bristol’s Cribbs Mall for the next 10 years.

The new space, which will be Polestar’s fifth in the UK and first in the South West, will showcase the brand’s range of electric cars as well as offering on-site test drives. No stock will be held on site, however, to encourage buyers to choose their own configuration.

Cribbs Mall is also in the process of an electric vehicle charging point roll-out, with 26 installed so far and plans for more in the future.

Polestar’s lease follows other new retailers to Cribbs Mall: The Entertainter, Mango, The Works, Suits Direct and Rituals.

Scott Linard, Portfolio Director at M&G Real Estate, said: “It is fantastic news that Polestar has selected Cribbs Mall as its first showroom in the South West. Now more than ever it is important to encourage sustainable travel and Polestar’s new showroom will help to showcase the role electric vehicles can play in helping to reduce the UK’s carbon emissions.

“The arrival of Polestar also coincides with our wider commitment to work with South Gloucestershire Council to install more electric vehicle charging points across Cribbs Causeway to help make electric transport more accessible for all.”

Jonathan Goodman, Head of Polestar UK, said: “As a city committed to a sustainable future, choosing Bristol as the destination for our next Polestar Space was a no-brainer. The Space in Cribbs Mall is located in a pivotal retail destination in the South West making it easier than ever for customers to interact with the brand.”

Time Retail Partners and Cushman & Wakefield are Cribbs Mall’s retained letting agents.
