He will also play a pivotal role in the development of the company’s new house type range. This will include enhanced fabric, efficient services, heat recovery systems and solar panels where required to comply with new Part L Building Regulations which sets the standard for the energy performance and carbon emissions for new homes.

Mark, who lives in Chippenham, said: “The housebuilding sector is marked by many opportunities. The introduction of Part L holds great promise as it will reduce carbon emissions, lower energy costs for consumers and promote environmental sustainability, building on our already proven track record of delivering energy-efficient homes that can help reduce residents’ bills while being kinder to the planet.

“The chance to work in an organisation with the prestige and history of Barratt David Wilson Homes was an opportunity too good to turn down. Drawing from my previous experience, I can bring a wealth of construction knowledge and a keenness to implement new practices that allow the safe, quality delivery of ‘green’ homes that we can all be proud of.

"I’m also committed to promote the many benefits of housebuilding, to nurture and inspire the next generation of construction industry talent.”
