Only one 111,500 sq ft warehouse remains available at Banbury Cross after international e-retail giant Amazon expanded its UK distribution capabilities by leasing Unit 3 – a 170,000 sq ft BREEAM ‘Excellent’ designed warehouse.

Unit 2 (111,560 sq ft) – the last unit still available to let – is also built to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standard and benefits from a 50m deep secure yard, 10 dock levellers and two level access doors.

Banbury is home to a number of national occupiers including The Entertainer with a 235,000 sq ft building (DC1) at Banbury Cross. Others in the area include: DHL, 3663, Kraft Foods, Fresh Direct, ProDrive and Isoft.

Being based on the M40 at junction 11, Banbury Cross has already seen development manager First Industrial successfully deliver a 235,000 sq ft unit last year let to The Entertainer. Since its acquisition by real estate advisory business Clearbell in June last year, further investment was made in building two additional distribution warehouses.

Oliver Bertram, development director at First Industrial, commented: “This site demonstrates our commitment to building high spec warehouses in key logistics locations.”

Practical completion has also been achieved by Clearbell and First Industrial on a distribution warehouse at Interlink, Leicester.

Rob Mills, partner at Clearbell, said: “Each of these sites is located in a core distribution location. We recognised the opportunity to develop quality buildings at Banbury Cross and are delighted to confirm Amazon’s tenancy.”
