A Coventry data business that supports local authorities and housing associations to improve the experience of their tenants has moved into a new home as part of an ambitious drive for growth.

Housemark will create up to 10 new jobs after it moved from Riley Court at the University of Warwick Science Park into neighbouring Viscount Centre on the park, where it has been based for around 20 years.

The company, which serves around 350 clients across the UK, has made the move just a few months after the appointment of new CEO Rob Griffiths.

He said: “This is part of our next phase of growth. We employ around 50 people and about a third of those live in the local area. We’re looking to add another five to ten new members of the team over the next couple of months – all from the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

“The office move has gone extremely smoothly and we are really pleased that we have been able to grow here at the University of Warwick Science Park.

“We really like it here and believe there is much more we can do in collaboration with the Science Park and with the wider University too.”

Housemark was established in 1999 and has two principle shareholders, the Chartered Institute for Housing (CIH) and the National Housebuilders Federation (NHF) – the major trade bodies for housing.

It draws data from housing associations and local authorities on everything from the cost of housing through to performance and tenant satisfaction. It then provides intelligence and benchmarking to those clients in order for them to understand how they are performing and look at ways of improving.

It is the only business of its kind in operation in the UK and Rob says there are more than 1,000 potential new clients to reach.

He said: “The data we offer is becoming richer, more relevant and, crucially, actionable by the day and that’s why we add such value to our clients. It’s also why we believe there are such great opportunities to grow.”

Mark Tock, the COO of the University of Warwick Science Park – which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year - said it was an exciting period for the park.

He said: “We are thrilled to support Housemark in continuing to grow here at the Science Park and we take great pride in the fact that they’ve been with us for two decades and want to continue their development as a business with us.

“The Science Park also has exciting plans for the future and this move for Housemark will be the first of, what we hope will be, many positive announcements in the coming months as we celebrate 40 years of this park, which has supported so many businesses and individuals to innovate and grow.”
