Spectrum Corporate Finance has announced that Chris Wood has recently joined the firm as a manager in the lead advisory team. Wood will be based in the Reading office but will work across all the Spectrum offices.
Wood is an experienced corporate finance manager who joins Spectrum from the M&A team at Deloitte.
He began his career in 2012 at Grant Thornton with a year-long placement in the M&A team. He went onto a summer placement at Spectrum, supporting the team with client reports and research, before joining Deloitte in 2014. Over this time Wood has gained a wealth of experience in the delivery of sell-side, buy-side, management advisory and fundraising mandates.
Wood will work alongside the Spectrum director team on the day-to-day management of projects, including business valuation metrics, information memorandums, potential buyer liaison, business plans, and project team communication.
Wood’s appointment has been driven by the increasing demand for lead advisory services and a healthy pipeline of projects going into 2019. In 2018 Spectrum completed 41 deals, with an aggregate value of over £700m.
Clive Hatchard, managing director at Spectrum Corporate Finance, commented: “Chris has been known to us for a number of years and since his internship has gained varied and valuable experience but is at the stage of his career where we believe he will really benefit from the responsibility and development that a specialist Corporate Finance boutique can provide. We know him to be a very efficient and knowledgeable corporate finance professional, with an excellent understanding of the transaction process and a skill-set which will greatly benefit our clients and complement our team.”
Wood said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Spectrum. In the years following my internship in 2014, I have seen the team grow significantly, win numerous awards and develop an ever-increasing pre-eminence within the Corporate Finance community. I was further drawn to Spectrum because, as an independent advisor, the team can operate in a flexible and entrepreneurial manner which maximises value to clients. I look forward to building on the team’s success into the future.”
