Major recruitment drive at Coventry-based online university sets it up for growth
Coventry-based Arden University, which offers flexible online, has announced three new members to its Executive following a year of substantial growth, as more students turn to online learning.
Chief People Officer Tracie Greenhalgh is promoted to the executive along with Arden’s Registrar, Steve Clayton. They join newly appointed Chief Transformation Officer, Paul Kilgour to sit on the university’s executive board.
This year, Arden has recruited 89 colleagues with plans to appoint a further 170 roles in 2021 – almost doubling its headcount. The appointments will allow the university to respond to the current demand of students enrolling on its online courses as well as blended learning programmes at its six study centres based in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Berlin.
Earlier this month the university also appointed its first Dean to head up its new Faculty of Business and is recruiting Heads of School to lead its six new academic schools in Business, Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality, Human Resource Management, Leadership and Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Law.
Professor Carl Lygo, Arden University’s Vice-Chancellor and CEO said: "We’re really proud that even during a challenging year we have continued to grow. Our new appointments highlight our commitment in upholding the best talent for our students and we look forward to continuing to grow and adapt. The new members of the Executive team bring invaluable skills to the table and their extensive experience means we are well positioned to meet our growth objectives."
