Legal experts to deliver Brexit workshop for county businesses

Gloucestershire business leaders will be briefed on the employment, commercial & data protection law implications of Brexit, at a workshop run by Willans LLP solicitors on 26 February at Cheltenham’s Manor by the Lake.

Lawyers from the Legal 500-rated firm will be covering topics such as commercial agreements and intellectual property post-Brexit, along with the new rules for EEA workers in this country, and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation after 29 March. Delegates will be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and concerns with other directors, senior executives, HR managers and advisors.

Partner Matthew Clayton, speaker and head of the firm’s employment law division, which was awarded a top-tier ranking in a national independent legal guide, commented: “29 March is hurtling towards us with alarming speed, and the current political climate gives businesses little confidence about what Brexit will look like, when or indeed if it happens. However, there are still practical insights to be had about some of the legal implications for businesses of Britain no longer being in the EU.”

Partner Chris Wills, head of the firm’s corporate & commercial team who is also speaking at the seminar, added “We’re looking forward to delivering some straightforward, business-minded guidance on the key legal issues which are most likely to affect organisations after Brexit day, so delegates can come away feeling reassured that, despite the political uncertainty, they’ll have a better understanding of their obligations in terms of commercial, employment and data protection law”.

The workshop runs from 9am to 1:30pm on 26 February, and tickets cost £45 + VAT (or 'early bird' price of £40 + VAT if booked before 1 February) to include lunch, coffee and networking opportunities. Willans LLP are legal advisers for businesses, individuals, charities and not-for-profit organisations based locally, nationally and internationally, and employ around 80 people at its offices at Imperial Square, Cheltenham.
