Local relationship bank, Handelsbanken, has announced the relocation of its Gloucester branch to larger premises on Gloucester Business Park later this summer.

Since first opening its doors in Gloucester in 2010, the branch has grown rapidly, predominantly through word-of-mouth recommendation. From its original and current home at 1145 Regent Court, the branch is not moving far, intending to take up residence on the same business park, just around the corner at 5210 Valiant Court.

Handelsbanken Gloucester is one of over 200 Handelsbanken branches located in local communities across the UK. Built on long-term sustainable values and committed to delivering high levels of bespoke customer service, Handelsbanken branches place a predominant focus on traditional banking relationships with locally-based customers who share the Bank's values.

At Handelsbanken, customers benefit from direct access to experienced teams who are empowered to make decisions locally. Handelsbanken does not have any product or sales targets, helping to ensure customers' best interests remain central to decision-making.

Handelsbanken Emma_Gray_2019Gloucester branch manager, Emma Gray, says the branch’s experienced team of local banking professionals has developed steadily and today supports a wide range of customers with their banking and wealth management needs, adding: “It has been an honour to serve and work in this community for the last ten years. We’ve been greatly encouraged by the positive response we have received from local businesses and individuals so far and are excited about our pending move, where we will continue serving and supporting our local customers, especially in the present climate and through challenges many of them currently face."

Handelsbanken's approach has seen the Bank rated top for customer satisfaction for 11 years running, in an independent survey of British banks’ personal and business customers*.

In February 2020, Handelsbanken was named the most recommended provider for SME banking by the Competition and Markets Authority's Independent Service Quality Survey for business banking, for the fourth time. The Bank was ranked top in four of the five categories identified by the survey - with 82% of SME banking customers saying they would be extremely or very likely to recommend Handelsbanken to other SMEs for its overall service quality**.

Handelsbanken has been named the joint top-scoring commercial bank in Global Finance's ranking of the World's Safest Banks 2019***. This reflects the Bank’s long-term focus and prudent, consistent approach to banking throughout all economic conditions.
