Business and financial advisory firm Grant Thornton has promoted James Titheridge to partner within their growing tax team.

Having spent the past seven years at the firm’s Reading office, James brings more than 20 years’ experience in tax, with a short stay in Australia. His role sees him helping businesses in the Thames Valley and Southampton region to navigate the complexities of both the UK and international tax landscape, including new rules set to arrive in 2024.

James said: "I’m excited to be appointed to partner and continuing the great work we are doing as a team. I enjoy the diversity of tax and the variety of businesses that we work with, and our broad expertise puts us in a strong position to help those businesses who are looking to grow internationally.

"My goal is to continue the growth of our team and to support the UK’s many creative and dynamic businesses. This is illustrated by the large number of graduates and school leavers who joined us last year and we’re extremely proud of our diverse mix of talent, especially as a school leaver myself.

"I’m looking forward to continuing my tenure with Grant Thornton and to flourishing with the team."

"With tax rules regularly changing, he also instils the key message of constant learning and development within the wider team."
