Global logistics company to hold apprenticeship evenings in Banbury
Dematic, a leading global logistics and supply chain company, is hosting two apprenticeship evenings on 3rd and 25th February at its Banbury business Park headquarters. The events will take place from 4.00-8.00pm and are designed to attract the next generation to the logistics industry, with a specific focus on encouraging local talent to apply.
The apprenticeship evening is a chance for local schools to learn more about Dematic’s 2-4 year apprenticeship scheme, hear from current apprentices of the programme, see some of the latest robotics technology created by current apprentices and learn more about the trends and innovation taking place in the logistics sector, so they may be encouraged to sign up. As a business which has chosen to base its Northern European headquarters in Banbury, Dematic is committed to contributing to the local community and the growth of the local economy. Their apprenticeship programme is part of this pledge and they offer 20 places a year dependent on business needs.
Dematic’s Angela Holt, Head of the Training Academy and Darren Smith, Apprentice Manager, as well as other heads of departments and current apprentices, will be on hand to discuss a variety of topics including: apprenticeship schemes available, how Dematic is working with local schools to attract more women into the industry and why apprenticeships can be a better route to a career in the logistics sector than academia.
