Giant Ventures has launched two new funds totalling US$250 million to invest in technology founders, advised by lawyers at Osborne Clarke.

A US$100 million seed fund will back 25 early-stage companies, while a US$150 million climate-focused growth fund fills a major Series B funding gap - providing capital to climate technology companies.

Giant Ventures has already made 10 investments from the new funds and is set to deploy more than US$1 billion into sustainable technology this decade.

Giant Ventures was advised by an Osborne Clarke team led by Bristol-based funds partner Helen Parsonage and senior associate George Skinner.

Partner Erika Jupe and legal director Elizabeth Shanahan, also based in Bristol, advised Giant Ventures on the tax aspects of the fundraisings.

Rob Hicks, head of finance and Operations at Giant Ventures, said: "Osborne Clarke has been by Giant's side since the early days, providing invaluable legal and tax services throughout the fundraising journey.

"We have built a strong relationship with Helen, George and the rest of the OC team, and value their diligent and proactive approach."

Parsonage said: "We are delighted to have helped Giant with these latest fundraises, having enjoyed working with them since inception. It's great to see them successfully raising in this difficult market, with some great LPs coming on board."

Giant is at the forefront of supporting the most ambitious founders using technology as a force for good and has attracted capital from a broad alliance of leading institutional investors, including BMW, Henkel, RIT Capital Partners and The Nature Conservancy.
