Accountancy and advisory firm BDO has appointed Chris Williams to its corporate tax team in Southampton.

Chris, who joins from EY, is a familiar face in the Central South business community, having spent much of his career focusing on the local market.

Chris (pictured above, left) said: “I really enjoy working with privately owned and PE backed businesses, and this is BDO’s heartland. My first few weeks have confirmed the team are fantastic and a great fit for me.

“The companies I work with are often ambitious, with an eye on international growth so that gives the team and I lots of scope to support them.”

Jon Hickman (above, right), Head of Tax at BDO Southampton, continues: “Businesses are facing a challenging few years so we are very focused on having the best people to support them through this.

“But there are also some exciting opportunities locally with the Solent Freeport potentially transforming the region. Chris brings a wealth of local insight and market knowledge to our senior tax team as we look forward to further growth and strengthening our specialist offering.”
