Coventry electric scooter JV set to attract £30-40m investment
PURE EV, India's leading electric 2-wheeler scooter OEM with more than 70,000 customers, has announced a joint venture with Coventry-based Pragmatic Design Solutions Ltd (PDSL).
PDSL has been delivering engineering and digital technology since 2010, for clientele such as Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volkswagen, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, Rivian, VInFast, Polestar, Volta Trucks, Panasonic and LG.
PURE EV and PDSL want to develop a high-performance electric 2-wheeler on a solid-state battery technology platform, targeting both international and Indian markets. The planned 2-wheeler aims to integrate advanced technology with sustainable design principles, with a mileage of 250 KM, top speed of 100+ KMPH, and an AI-based power-train platform offering troubleshooting and a fast on-board charger.
The joint venture, which is set to attract £30-40 million investment, will be set up at the Coventry University Technology Park, UK. Coventry and the wider West Midlands region is known as a world leading automotive hub including for electric vehicle (EV) technology.
Product development has begun, with a launch planned during early 2025.
