Bournemouth hotel business THE NICI Group has appointed a new managing director, Lukasz Dwornik, as it prepares to launch a new restaurant this year.

Lukasz has worked closely in the past with THE NICI founder and owner Nicolas Roach, and brings almost two decades of industry experience.

Most recently he’s headed up two of Harbour Hotels’ flagship properties, establishing and maintaining the five-star status of their Southampton hotel and picking up multiple awards for his work.

Lukasz said: “I’m thrilled to join THE NICI as managing director, contributing to its evolution as a prominent force in Bournemouth’s hospitality landscape.

“Having started my career in Dorset, I’m excited to further establish the hotel, driving tourism and providing fantastic facilities for locals to enjoy.

“Together with the newly appointed senior team, we are committed to redefining luxury on the South Coast.”

Lukasz is backed by new food and beverage director Richard Warr, formerly of Chewton Glen, as well as Christopher Drodge, who joins from The Pig Hotels to oversee operations and day-to-day running of THE NICI.

Executive chef Dominic South brings extensive experience at London establishments including The Langham and Corinthia, while head chef Ian Gibbs has earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Together they’ll serve THE NICI’s South Beach Bar & Restaurant, which blends Dorset seafood with international influences.

This year will also see the addition of a second dining concept, Harry Rocks – a relaxed poolside restaurant serving alfresco lunches which is set to open this summer.
