Gloucestershire-based kitchenware retailer ProCook has donated £2,672.90 to Teckels Animal Sanctuary, a local dogs and cats home, after a successful fundraising activity as part of ProCook’s regular initiatives to support local charities.

The charity was chosen by ProCook colleagues at their Store Support Centre which can be found at St
Modwen Park near Haresfield, near Gloucester.

Several colleagues at ProCook have volunteered at Teckels as part of their Good Cause Day, which entitles every ProCook employee one day a year to volunteer at a charity of their choice.

ProCook joins charity Life’s a Beach for local canal clean up

Established in 2003, Teckels Animal Sanctuary is a small, independent charity in Whitminster,
Gloucestershire, that offers a safe haven for dogs and cats where they can receive the care and
rehabilitation they need to find their forever homes.

In the past ProCook has supported local charities such as Wiggly, The Nelson Trust and Young Gloucester through fundraising and the donation of seconds stock which cannot be resold in its stores. ProCook also has a long-term charity partnership with Life’s a Beach, a charity dedicated to eradicating single use plastics from British beaches and waters with clean-ups and school outreach.

Sophie Henley, ProCook’s Sustainability and Community Impact Manager said: “We’re so pleased to be supporting a local charity that is in desperate need of donations at this time.

"Teckels was chosen by our colleagues and is one close to our hearts - some colleagues have previously
volunteered there, and one has even adopted a cat! It’s been a rewarding experience for all of us at
ProCook to raise these much-needed funds and we’re looking forward to doing similar fundraising
activities in 2024.”

Sarah Johnson, Manager at Teckels Animal Sanctuary said: “We are so very grateful for the lovely donation from ProCook, and to the team for choosing us.

"It has been a very challenging year, with so many animals needing our help, so knowing that we have the support from businesses like ProCook is simply amazing!”
