Surrey solar fridge firm Sunswap goes pan-European through new supply agreement
Sunswap, a Leatherhead-based provider of zero-emission refrigerated trailers, has extended its partnership with major European leasing company TIP Group.
The Surrey firm has just closed out a busy year of UK trials and orders, and is now eyeing growth across the continent.
It’s just agreed to supply another 20 Endurance Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) to TIP as it commences customer trials.
Alastair Gough, head of business development at Sunswap, said: “We’re thrilled that TIP has chosen Sunswap to help equip their trailers with our award-winning solar-powered refrigeration technology.

“Working with a forward-thinking organisation such as TIP signifies a huge step in Sunswap’s expansion overseas.”
Four years on from their conception, Sunswap plans to begin full-scale production this March of its battery and solar-powered transport fridges, which the firm believes can compete with diesel systems ‘by operational, financial and environmental measures’.
Rogier Laan, vice president of sales and marketing at TIP, added: “Sunswap’s refrigeration system is unique and this partnership allows us to offer our customers another sustainable solution for their refrigerated trailer fleet management needs.
“We’re excited to be at the forefront of the industry in implementing clean technology to reduce our customer’s carbon footprint.”
