Property and construction consultancy, Ingleton Wood this week announced the appointment of Shawn Galliers as Director of Sustainability.

The new appointee will be based at the Practice’s Oxford office. Shawn will lead the expansion of a new team of sustainability specialists with ambitions of becoming a recognised ‘Centre of Excellence’. He will also work with teams and clients across the UK.

Having joined the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) early in his career and qualifying as a surveyor, Shawn stated Ingleton Wood: "has developed industry-leading expertise in the sustainable design, operation, and maintenance of buildings. This includes thermal and physical modelling, carbon reduction strategies, and energy services.

Shawn said of his appointment: “Ingleton Wood is a fantastic company with an industry-leading reputation and being appointed as Director of Sustainability provides an exciting opportunity to develop and establish a new team of specialists to ensure sustainability is integrated across everything we offer. This will provide value for the business, staff, and clients.

“Climate change is a global priority but too often actions fail to follow the bold rhetoric.

"As a society, we have made great strides but there is much more we can do. We know the development and construction industry stands ready to be part of the solution, so our role is to facilitate and support sustainable delivery.”

Laura Mansel-Thomas, Senior Partner at Ingleton Wood, said: “Shawn is a stand-out performer and possesses all the qualities and experience to help us deliver on our bold ambitions of establishing a new Centre of Excellence for sustainability, based at our Oxford office.

“Sustainability is more than the latest industry buzzword. We recognise that not only will it underpin our industry for the future but pursuing carbon reduction and net zero is the right thing to do for our planet and environment.”

Ingleton Wood property and construction consultancies cover Central England, East Anglia, London and the South East, with offices in Oxford, London, Cambridge, Colchester, Billericay and Norwich.
