UPOWA, part of Bracknell-based construction-focused Brickability, announced the renewal of a supply agreement with Hampshire-based housebuilder Bewley Homes, to deliver solar PV and EV charging across the latter's developments.

The deal further builds on the UPOWA roof-integrated solar and EV charger installations, which have been completed with Bewley Homes since 2021 and will help the developer overcome the challenges posed by Part L and Part S of Building Regulations.

Under the revised Part L, all new build properties built by Bewley must produce 31% less carbon emissions, while under the new Part S, all new build properties in England must have a 7kW smart EV charger fitted for every residence with a parking space.

James Bull, the founder and sale director at UPOWA, said: "We are proud to continue our partnership with Bewley Homes, a housebuilder who shares our commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation.

"By choosing UPOWA, Bewley Homes have a single supplier they can trust for all their solar and EV charging needs. We look forward to guiding Bewley Homes through the new regulations so they can maximise sustainability across their schemes."

Chris Adams, the commercial director at Bewley Homes, added: "We are committed to optimising the sustainability and energy-efficiency of our homes to help our customers lower their carbon footprint and energy bills.

"With UPOWA’s solar PV and EV charging expertise and end-to-end service on board we can create high-quality, eco-friendly homes, that are fit for the future."

UPOWA provides housing developers and construction firms a one-stop shop for sustainable technology products and specialist services to accelerate the journey to net-zero and has delivered over 18,000 renewable energy installations nationwide since 2008.

Bewley Homes, started in 1991, and now builds around 400 new homes per year across the south and southeast of England.
