Southampton: Moore Blatch managing partner named in Hot 100
Hampshire lawyer David Thompson from Moore Blatch has been named as one of the country’s leading lights after being included in The Lawyer Hot 100. Thompson has been managing partner for the leading regional law firm for the past seven years, a time of growth and expansion for Moore Blatch.
The Hot 100 recognises the lawyers who will shape the profession in 2013 and follows months of research into candidates’ client work and contribution to their firms and the profession.
Thompson has been included in the prestigious list for his work overseeing revenue growth of 44% from £13.5m to £19.5m which The Lawyer said was no mean feat at any time, let alone during a recession.
This is largely because of the growth of its personal injury and clinical negligence departments, which Thompson separated from litigation five years after he became head of the department in 1995.
“It’s been an achievement but we need to get to the next stage of growth to be more regional, bearing in mind the impact of the Legal Services Act,’’ said Thompson.
The Hot 100 listing follows hot on the heels of recognition in The Lawyer Top 200 ranking which has seen Moore Blatch climb to number 109 in the assessment of the country’s law firms.
“These accolades certainly mark us out as one of the strongest performing firms in Southampton and central southern England,’’ he added.
