Law firm Blake Morgan has been recognised as among the world’s best in trademark and copyright law with a listing for its intellectual property specialists in a leading global directory.

The firm’s IP group has been ranked in the seventh edition of World Trademark Review 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. The publication focuses exclusively on trademark practices and practitioners, identifying the world’s leading professionals in the field.

The guide recognises Jill Bainbridge, partner and head of intellectual property at Blake Morgan, who is noted for the quality of her advice, talent for litigation and “sweeping IP know-how”.

Her colleague Ben Evans, a dual-qualified solicitor and chartered trademark attorney, is described as a “rising star” who is “practical, business minded and timely”. Both are based at Blake Morgan’s Southampton office.

The guide remarks on the firm’s expertise across a range of sectors, commenting: “Blake Morgan’s in-depth understanding of the charities sector sets it apart on the highly competitive UK trademark scene.

“It strikes a fine balance, representing non-profits in a commercially astute way, but without being heavy handed – a feat that it repeats for its many public sector and higher-education patrons.

“It acts for a slew of heavyweight corporates too, including the likes of leading online sports retailer Wiggle and cosmetics e-business feelunique. Operating flawlessly across the contentious/non-contentious divide, it has cultivated a well-balanced practice, making it a cost-effective out-of-London destination for one-stop shopping.”

Blake Morgan’s IP team has a wide range of expertise in areas including advising on the selection of clearance of  trademarks,  protection to include all aspects of registration and intellectual property disputes.
