South: Wilkins Kennedy merges with Jordan Brookes
With effect from November 1, Jordan Brookes, Hampshire-based chartered accountant has merged with Top 30 firm Wilkins Kennedy. The merged entity will practice as JB Wilkins Kennedy and will continue to operate from premises in Winchester and Romsey.
Colin Wiseman, managing partner of Wilkins Kennedy, commented: “Jordan Brookes has a strong reputation as a leading adviser to owner-managed businesses in Hampshire and the South Coast. The integration of our two firms is not only an important growth strategy, but will also provide businesses in this region with an exciting alternative. Through our combined expertise we are ideally placed to offer growing businesses the range of services and specialist knowledge typically associated with much larger firms whilst providing a genuinely personal service at a competitive fee.”
John Beames, managing partner of Jordan Brookes, added: “The merger brings together two like minded firms. By consolidating our expertise we will be able to provide clients with a wider range of services and enhance our ability to deliver innovative services that meet clients’ changing needs. At the same time we will retain the local team and personality of the firm, which is of great importance to our clients and staff.”
The merger sees Wilkins Kennedy expand to 10 offices in the South East of England with a total of 38 partners.
In July Wilkins Kennedy merged with Bridgers, Reading-based insolvency practitioners, to form a formidable corporate recovery team in Reading.
John Kirkpatrick, previously a partner with Bridgers, joined Wilkins Kennedy as a partner and leads the Reading team. Commenting on the merger, Kirkpatrick said: “This presents an exciting opportunity for two successful corporate recovery teams to combine their talents and resources to help business and individuals in financial distress. We know the Reading market very well and will continue to respond to the needs and requirements of the local market.”
The firm operates in Reading from the current Bridgers offices near the Oracle.
