Reading: Law firm marks prestigious NFU panel appointment with new office
Law firm Thrings, which has offices in Bath, Bristol, Swindon and London, is celebrating its reappointment to the NFU Legal Panel for South East England by opening a new office in Reading.Thrings has the largest specialist agricultural team of any law firm in the country, and has just been re-appointed to the prestigious legal panel for another three years, acting as sole panel firm for the seven counties of Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
The Reading office is headed up by partner Derek Walsh, who worked for many years at the NFU as a legal adviser before joining Thrings. Since then, Walsh has acted exclusively for farmers and farming businesses.
Walsh said the opening of the Reading office was the next logical move for Thrings, further strengthening its presence along the M4 corridor.
"The agricultural team is a stand-alone team dedicated purely to agricultural law, and, from London and the South West during our time on the NFU panel, we’ve already built up excellent connections in the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Surrey and West Sussex,” said Derek.
“Now, with our reappointment to the NFU panel and the firm’s determination to be even nearer our clients across the south of England, it makes sense to have an additional base at Reading, which is strategically so central to those counties and to the many clients we already have in that region."
Thrings’ Reading office is at 400 Thames Valley Park Drive.
