Law-led professional services group Gateley plc has announced the promotion of a corporate lawyer in its Reading office.

Jenni Ferguson (corporate) has been made associate and 38 promotions have been made nationally, spanning Gateley’s corporate, banking & finance, employment, pensions, real estate, residential development, construction, restructuring, commerce, technology & media, commercial dispute resolution and planning teams as well as Gateley's property consultancy business, Gateley Hamer.

Gateley's London office also saw three promotions; Brian Taylor (shipping) has been made legal director and Nuala Murphy (employment) and Alex Thompson (restructuring) have been promoted to senior associate.

Christopher Avery, head of Gateley’s Reading office, commented: “After another busy year, it’s great to announce these promotions. Every individual has contributed to the growth of the business and their promotion is very much deserved.”

These promotions mark the end of a busy financial year for Gateley, most recently with the acquisition of Guildford-based land and property law firm GCL solicitors. The acquisition further strengthens the firm’s position in the sector nationally and creates a substantial presence for Gateley’s residential development team in the southern market. As well as this, the Reading office was recognised as Law Firm of the Year at this year’s Thames Valley Deals Awards, celebrating the region’s top advisers.
