Portsmouth’s leading corporate law firm Verisona Law has made the shortlist for the ‘Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) Awards 2016’. Director Nick Oliver commented: ‘We have achieved a great many successful outcomes for clients in the past 12 months, involving a variety of complex insolvency problems. At the end of the day, that’s what our role is really about – helping clients to understand their options and guiding them to the best outcome.
“We have also done a lot of work for company directors this year. This has included the successful defence of directors accused of wrongful trading (trading a company on beyond the point at which it should have stopped trading and been placed into liquidation) at a four-week trial in London. This case resulted in a ground-breaking judgment which clarified the law in this area. We have also assisted a number of individuals resolve difficult bankruptcy problems, including many relating to properties.”
