Chris Dale, solicitor in the property team at Newbury & Thatcham law firm Gardner Leader has been shortlisted for the national Law Firm Services (LFS) Young Conveyancer of the Year Award.

Dale, who qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and specialises in residential property, has been selected for the excellent service and care he provides to clients; his extensive knowledge and commitment to the job; and his involvement in supporting the local Newbury and Berkshire community.

His speed and quality of work have been particularly recognised by clients. Dale's use of technology, his understanding of the law and his ability to research and problem-solve where necessary all help ease what can be an unfamiliar and anxious process for some people.

Dale's work with the local community was also referenced. In the last few years Chris has been involved in a range of local events such as The Newbury Bayer 10k run, the Newbury pancake race and local charity fund raising events.

Stuart Durrant, partner and head of the property team at Gardner Leader, which covers both business and residential property, added: "Chris is a great asset to the team and fully deserves to be in the running to win this award. He's a great communicator and our clients love him, which is why they always score him over 90% in our customer satisfaction surveys. It's a pleasure to work with him."

The LFS Conveyancing awards attract solicitors and Licensed Conveyancers across the UK. The Young Conveyancer of the Year award is open to those under 30 years. Winners of the awards will be announced on September 26 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
