As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Innovation Warehouse is partnering with the University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth City Council, Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Team Locals, Shaping the Future, Parity Trust and UK Business Angels Association.

This will be Portsmouth’s first ever Global Entrepreneurship Week which will link various different company activities and events across Portsmouth into one new and exciting, dynamic programme of engaging events.

The events will be held by organisers across the City at various locations such as Portsmouth Guildhall, Innovation Space, Lakeside, Express FM and will include a mash-up, growth accelerator, start-up weekend, pitch & win & raspberry jams events etc..

Your company may already have a special event/s which can be added to the Global Entrepreneurship Week programme.

This is a key opportunity to network and engage the community with the idea of entrepreneurship and job creation. Organisers want the local community, businesses, colleges and schools to all get involved.

The programme:

  • November 18: Kick Start Global Entrepreneurship Week
  • 18-22 Mon-Fri: Run workshops, seminars, invite keynote speakers to varied events around the City
  • 22: Silicon Island Business Angels Conference
  • 22: Launch a start-up weekend
  • 23: Awards Ceremony
  • 24: Winners of Start-up Weekend receive Cash Prize

On the Friday, Silicon Island Business Angels will be partnering with the UK Business Angels Association to host a conference at the University. Guest speakers, local businesses and entrepreneurs will present in front of a panel of investors and successful entrepreneurs. Lucy Tarleton from London Stock Exchange has agreed to talk through the benefits of floating and going public.
