HMT advises on £5.1m investment in Brompton Technology
Henley-based HMT have advised investment firm Connection Capital on their £5.1 million investment in video processing manufacturer Brompton Technology.
Brompton, who were established in 2011, supply products designed for use in live events. Their technology is used to generate seamless, high quality images across multiple LED panels for use as backdrops for live music acts or at sporting events.
Their technology has been used by major artists including Taylor Swift and U2, and in high end TV and film productions such as Disney’s The Mandalorian.
Brompton pivoted its model to focus on TV and film production following the cessation of live events during the pandemic. They are now the global market leader in virtual production technology.
The investment will allow Brompton Technology to capitalise on significant growth opportunities in the future.
HMT, led by Paul Read, Corin Briault-Hutter and Hamish Pearson undertook financial due diligence for Connection Capital on this transaction.
Paul Read said: “We are delighted to have advised Connection Capital on their investment in Brompton Technology. Brompton has been able to adapt its offering during the Covid-19 crisis and is now a lead on both the live events and TV and film production markets.”
