A charity auction organised by The Business Magazine in aid of Ukraine has reached £5,000.

An oil painting by renowned English artist Paul Robinson, ‘Ukraine,’ is being auctioned off with all proceeds going towards the Disaster Emergency Committee's (DEC) efforts in the country.

The work was commissioned by investment banking firm, Blackdown Partners with bids being taken via email and on the night of the Thames Valley Deals Awards in November.

Paul is famed for his depiction of storms on the North Sea and rugged Cumbrian landscapes.

This work features a family reaching out for safety while behind them Ukrainian sunflowers stand tall, defiant against the looming threat of Russian aggression.

Proceeds from the auction will go directly to the DEC Relief Fund in support of their response to Europe’s largest humanitarian crisis in a generation.

Paul said: “I felt honoured to be asked by one of my collectors to create a painting which would be auctioned to raise money to help the people of Ukraine.”
