Q Park buys Britannia Group

Bournemouth-based Britannia Parking Group has been acquired by Q-Park.

Q-Park, which is itself owned by global investor KKR, is one of the UK’s largest car park operators with numerous parking facilities in most of the UK’s major cities.

With more than 25 years’ experience establishing and managing car parks, Britannia Parking has a national footprint consisting of more than 600 car parks ranging from multi-storey parking facilities to conventional pay and display parking using ANPR solutions linked to live tracking services plus fully managed CCTV and control room services from its Bournemouth base.

As well as owning and leasing its own parking facilities the company also manages car parks on behalf of landowners. These clients vary from large established funds and organisations to independent property developers, pubs and even retail parks.

Q-Park reached agreement for the full purchase of Britannia Parking and have undergone a thorough due diligence process which resulted in the deal completion taking place on the 4th June 2024.

Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK said ‘We are absolutely delighted to be able to confirm the acquisition of the Britannia Parking business. They are a successful and commercially solid business which made them a perfect acquisition target and we welcome our new colleagues to the Q-Park family.’

Q-Park operates more than 3,600 parking facilities comprising more than 706,000 parking spaces in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark. Based on publicly available industry data for our competitors, it estimates that it is a top three player, based on the estimated off-street revenues, in all the countries in which it operates. Q-Park also has numerous mobility hubs which provide access to a variety of mobility solutions. It supports a range of activities from last mile logistics, electric vehicle charging, micromobility and car sharing services which help support urban accessibility, sustainability and liveability.
