Berkshire’s Blandy & Blandy announces new adopted charities

Blandy & Blandy, the law firm with offices in Reading and Henley-on-Thames, has announced its new adopted charities.

Following applications from more than 50 local causes, the firm has chosen to adopt Reading-based Berkshire Women’s Aid and The Cowshed, which is based in Hurst, Wokingham, for a two year period starting 1 July.

Blandy & Blandy has donated £25,0000 to its outgoing charities, BIBS – Babies in Buscot Support and the Royal Berks Charity, with highlights including colleagues volunteering in the Royal Berkshire Hospital’s new health and wellbeing garden for NHS staff and taking part in last year’s Walk for Wards and the recent Reading Half Marathon.

Chairman and partner Nick Burrows, who also specialises in advising clients in the charity sector, said: “All of our colleagues participated in the process to select our new adopted charities so thank you and well done to them on choosing two fantastic local charities in Berkshire Women’s Aid and The Cowshed.

Both are doing very important work and, over time, supporting thousands of people in need who live in our local area. We look forward to raising much needed funds for our new charities and to helping in a variety of other ways.”
