Oxfordshire-based marketing agency Torpedo welcomed prime minister and local MP David Cameron to its new offices on February 27 where he congratulated staff on the company's continued growth and business success.

During his visit, Cameron heard how Torpedo has grown over the past 11 years from one person to the current team of 40 and, in the past year, achieved an 18% increase in turnover. He was given a tour of the new offices, spoke with members of the Torpedo team about the marketing and website projects they had worked on and tried some of the mobile apps the team had created for companies both within the UK and overseas.

Cameron, who is MP for Witney, said: “Torpedo has an inspiring story and an impressive list of clients. The creative industries play an important role in the British economy and Torpedo is a genuine example of a successful business that is working hard to stay at the top of its game and creating job opportunities in this sector.”

Torpedo managing director Iain Lewis commented: “It was fantastic to welcome Mr Cameron to the Torpedo offices. I’m really proud of our team and our achievements at Torpedo. We work in a fast-moving, competitive industry and the investment we’ve made in our creative and digital capability gives us a real advantage. We’ve grown substantially, especially over the past two years, and have some exciting plans for the future, so we felt it would be a great idea to share the story of our success with our local MP.”
