A leading firm of solicitors is expanding with an additional office in Dorset to meet increasing demand for its business services.

Battens Solicitors is opening at Oxford Court on the Granby Industrial Estate in Weymouth on June 8 as the local economy improves.

It will offer Battens’ full range of services including commercial property matters, employment and human resources, dispute resolution, debt recovery and company/commercial advice.

Expert staff will also provide advice about buying and selling homes, matrimonial matters, wills, probate and estate administration, and employment issues.

The additional premises will complement the law firm’s well-established Weymouth town centre office which will continue to serve clients in St Thomas Street with the full range of commercial and private services.

Battens chairman David Stephens said: “The Granby Industrial Estate is a dynamo of the local economy.

“With increasing demand for our business services, our additional Weymouth office is ideally located for businesses and employees on the Granby as well as nearby residents.

“It means we now have two conveniently located offices providing full legal services for our growing client base to use.

“The opening of an additional Weymouth office also demonstrates our confidence in the strengthening local economy.”

He added:  “It is a significant milestone in our expansion strategy to extend our reach and support more clients with expert legal services in Dorset and Somerset.”

Battens also has offices in Dorchester, Sherborne, Yeovil and London.

Oxford Court is a modern, purpose-built complex based around a courtyard at the heart of the Granby.

The £3.5 million development by DJ Property features flexible units suitable for business and light industrial use.

The Granby covers more than 30 acres and is home to many leading national and international businesses as well as local independent traders.
