Visit West, the local visitor economy partnership (LVEP) for the West of England, has launched its new Visit Bristol website.
The site showcases everything there is to see and do in the city and the surrounding region, with images chosen to reflect Bristol’s colourful, cultural and unique vibe.
It’s also built with both accessibility and sustainability in mind, featuring more consistent font weights and sizes, compressed images and sparingly placed video content.
The site was designed by tourism software firm Simpleview in collaboration with the team at Visit West.
Kathryn Davis, managing director of Visit West, said: “There’s been a huge amount of work behind the scenes in the development of this new site.
“We’ve been working with partners locally and with the team at Simpleview to actively reduce the carbon impact of the site, by employing new techniques and develop a new way of delivering visitor inspiration and information.
“This is the sixth site launch by Visit West since its inception in 2021, so the team should be proud of their huge achievement in raising the bar again in digital destination marketing.”
Visit Bristol’s social media channels have increased presence within the website using ‘Crowdriff’ galleries showing user-generated content to display eye-catching and authentic images of Bristol.
There’s also plenty of content and inspiration from locals and experts in the city, with blogs organically woven into the website, and new sponsorship opportunities for members, businesses and events.
Development of the site will continue over the next few months with the addition of more user-made content, interactive maps, a first-time visitor page, dynamic content and micro-sites.
