University of Portsmouth climbs 250 places in QS World University Ranking 2024
The University of Portsmouth has climbed approximately 250 places in the QS World University Ranking 2024, from rank 750-700 in 2023 to rank 502 this year.
The QS World University Rankings is the most-widely read university rankings in the world.
This latest analysis, which evaluated 2963 institutions in 104 locations, places the University in the top 17 universities world wide.

Other accolades bestowed on the university included being given a 5 star overall rating from QS, Times Higher Education Young University Rankings recognising Portsmouth as one of the UK’s best universities established during the last 50 years, and named as a top 3 university for Research Power.
A spokesperson for the university said: ''We’re proud of our 5 star rating for excellence in the QS World University Rankings 2022 and our global top 150 ranking in the Times Higher Education Young Universities 2021.
''We’re even prouder of our graduates’ success. With the support of our highly rated Careers and Employability Service , 94 per cent of our students are in work or further study 15 months after graduation (HESA Graduate Outcomes, 2019/20).
''Our research has a global impact. 77 per cent was rated world-leading or internationally excellent in the most recent research assessment exercise (REF 2021), which makes Portsmouth a top 3 modern university for research power.
