Sunseeker International, a luxury performance motor yacht builder and Poole’s largest private employer, is recruiting 50 new technical apprentices to join the team at its shipyards across Dorset.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to kick-start a career in the global marine industry, studying to become highly skilled in a range of yacht construction disciplines.

Multiple technical pathways are on offer as part of the apprenticeship programme at Sunseeker International, including carpentry, composites, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.

Taught over four years at Level 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework, the paid apprenticeship includes attendance at The Bournemouth and Poole College’s Marine Technology Centre alongside on-the-job training at Sunseeker’s Poole and Portland shipyards, with full support from its highly skilled workforce.

The programme enables apprentices to ‘earn while they learn’ from some of the best yacht builders in the industry while completing the relevant Apprenticeship Standard, accredited by the Institute of Apprenticeships.

Upon completion of the four-year training programme, earning potential is highly competitive. There are plenty of opportunities for career development including advancement to manufacturing leadership, with many members of the Sunseeker leadership team having started their careers as apprentices themselves.

Applications for the award-winning Sunseeker Apprenticeship Scheme are now open and will close on Thursday 31st March 2022. Applications should be completed online by visiting the Sunseeker website at: www.sunseeker.com/careers.
