Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed James Tetley as a tax partner based in its Southampton office.
Tetley joins RSM having spent the past 10 years in the Southampton market place, advising owner-managed, private equity backed and larger listed businesses on a range of matters including efficient tax structuring of groups, international expansion and capital expenditure projects.
He has particular expertise in providing practical, commercial advice on tax incentives for innovation, including R&D tax credits where he has advised companies across the country in making claims in excess of £100 million in the past two years. He also sits on HMRC’s R&D consultative committee, a steering group involving members of HMRC, HM Treasury and other stakeholders.
John Taylor, RSM’s office managing partner in Southampton, said: "I am delighted that James has joined RSM. He brings a huge amount of valuable experience and local knowledge which will help us further strengthen our tax offering to clients across the region."
