Following its premiere in London in 2014, Events in the Sky has selected five UK cities, including Southampton, to give the public a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dine in the sky. For Southampton the chosen venue in September 2017 will be above the city’s Guildhall Square.

Suspended 100 feet above ground, the Southampton in the Sky restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon and evening cocktail flights for guests looking to enjoy the very best food and drink the region has to offer.

Dining will centre on a table which seats 22 guests, with a head chef, sommelier and waiting team serving from the pop-up kitchen in the centre of the table while aloft in the sky. Guests will be securely fastened in their seats before the table is raised 100 feet from the ground and the experience begins.

Dale Agar of Events in the Sky said: "We promise that this will be a truly unique dining experience, with spectacular views. The chosen restaurant will serve guests a menu of signature dishes during the four-day festival."

Award-winning, luxury country-house hotel Chewton Glen will be the restaurant partner for Southampton. Andrew Stembridge, managing director, said: “We can’t wait to bring our award-winning chef and fantastic team to the skies over the city for a ‘gastro-nautical’ experience.”

Southampton in the Sky will run from September 21 to 24, 2017. With nine sittings per day, guests will have the choice of breakfast (£50), lunch (£125), dinner (£150), afternoon drinks (£75) or evening drinks (£75).

In addition to Southampton, events will be hosted in Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Bristol during the summer of 2017.

Tickets will go on sale from November 24, 2017, purchased through the website: www.eventsinthesky.co.uk
