Marriott International’s experiential hotel brand has announced the opening of the 208-bedroom Moxy Southampton, the eighth Moxy Hotel in the UK. With its upbeat vibe, social spaces, affordable guest rooms and stylish bar that doubles as check-in, Marriott says Moxy Southampton is ready to shake up the hotel scene in the port city.

Located at the West Quay Shopping Centre and near the marina, Moxy Southampton is within walking distance of the centre of the coastal city’s buzz. The social lobby features industrial chic interiors mixed with nautical themed décor paying homage to the local neighbourhood.

Guests are greeted by the Moxy crew and given a complimentary Moxy cocktail at check-in to start their stay in style. Travellers can also look out for Moxy ‘Hookups’, creative, social perks gifted randomly to guests daily, Moxy’s fresh twist on the expected hotel amenities.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Moxy Southampton into our growing UK portfolio, and bring the renowned Moxy spirit to the city. Southampton’s flair and creativity pairs perfectly with our Moxy guests who are always on the lookout for fun experiences,” said John Licence, vice-president, premium & select brands, Marriott International Europe.

Belvar, the management group operating Moxy Southampton, continues to expand its footprint. CEO Mads Jacobsen commented: “Each Moxy hotel we operate is different, quirky and has its own personality. Our bars, for guests and locals, are the place to eat, drink and socialise. Every bedroom makes a statement and brings the wow factor to our guests. For us it’s about creating a social atmosphere and standing out from the crowd.  Hotels don’t need to be boring which is why the fun factor is important to us.”
