Southampton-based law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has taken on two new recruits in response to a growth in demand for its private capital and property litigation services.

Mark Riley joins the private capital team as a solicitor. He will deal with succession planning, the administration of contentious and non-contentious estates, trusts and other legal issues affecting the elderly including advice on long-term care funding. He joins from CGM Solicitors.

Caroline Wort has been appointed as partner in the property litigation team. Caroline, who joins from Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co LLP, will oversee the team which offers services across a range of issues including disputed rights of way, landlord and tenant disputes and security of tenure matters under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

Kelvin Balmont, partner and head of Clarke Willmott’s Southampton office, said: “We have experienced an increase in demand for private capital and property litigation services in the area and we expect to see further growth. Mark and Caroline will bring additional depth and expertise to our team and will play a key part in developing our offering.”

In addition, Paul Hinett, who first joined the company in 2003, has been promoted from senior associate to partner in the commercial property team.

Clarke Willmott delivers a wide range of legal services for businesses and private clients, including property, planning, construction, dispute resolution, corporate and commercial, intellectual property, employment and HR consultancy, personal injury, clinical negligence, insolvency and debt recovery.
