Moore Blatch, one of the leading law firms in Southern England, is building on its existing strengths in the increasingly buoyant corporate transactions sector, particularly in the AIM and ISDX markets, with the launch of a City office.

The launch follows demand for the personalised service and pricing normally associated with an out of London firm, with the convenience of a City of London office.

To head the new office, Moore Blatch has also appointed a new corporate partner, Stephen Clow, formerly partner at DMH Stallard. Clow has 30 years’ experience in public markets work, mergers, acquisitions and general corporate work. He holds the ICAEW corporate finance qualification.

Moore Blatch, headquartered in Southampton, is offering a new proposition to the market with work originated by the City office undertaken by a combination of lawyers in both the City office and those based in Moore Blatch’s regional offices. This allows clients to benefit from the highly experienced lawyers, many of whom have decided to work out of London full time, at pricing more generally associated with a regional firm, plus the convenience of a central London hub.

David Thompson, managing partner, Moore Blatch, said: “We have developed a strong reputation for offering a valued personalised service which is important regardless of the legal issue at hand. When advising on complex deals, such attentiveness can make the difference between a satisfactory and a highly satisfactory outcome. Our success depends entirely on our people and Stephen has both the experience and, as importantly, the personality to convey all the values that are at the heart of Moore Blatch.”

Stephen Clow, commented: “Moore Blatch has thrived at a time when corporate transactions have been very few and far between. As that market becomes more buoyant our heritage will sustain the growth of our business in both our traditional disciplines as well as in our new City office.”

Roger Bailey, head of corporate and commercial and City office project leader, Moore Blatch added: “Our value proposition is that the work in the City office will be done by a known specialist supported by experienced lawyers from our regional offices to provide access to City experience at out of London rates offering unrivalled value.”
