Daymar, a leading chartered accountancy practice based in Guildford, has merged with Taylorcocks, a top 100 firm of chartered accountants and chartered tax advisers, with offices in Portsmouth, Farnham, Henley-on-Thames, Southampton, and Oxford.

David Pugh, director at Daymar, said: “We decided to seek a merger with another firm because we believe that a larger organisation would allow us to provide a wider array and more depth of knowledge in the increasingly technical world of accountancy taxation.”

Pugh also highlighted the value of merging with a like-minded firm: “We conducted an extensive search to find the right firm for Daymar to merge with and it was clear from the start that Taylorcocks shares our values and has the right ethos and ambitions to make us a good fit. We can now combine our capabilities to continue our tradition of providing an excellent service to our clients, whilst also offering new services that we are looking forward to discussing with our clients.”

Simon Howell, partner at Taylorcocks, said: “I am delighted that Daymar will now be working with Taylorcocks and it is exciting to be working with the great clients that Daymar has looked after for so many years. Taylorcocks is growing at a fantastic rate and we are delighted to be in a position to provide Daymar’s clients with a wider range of specialist services, that will no doubt benefit them in both the short and long term”.

Taylorcocks was established in Portsmouth in 1992 and has grow into a top 100 UK firm – according to Accountancy – with over 100 employees across 10 offices. Taylorcocks was recently named as Xero’s Emerging Partner of the Year at the XeroCon event in October 2017; an achievement that 'shows the commitment of the firm to improve efficiency and increase the value of its services to clients'.

Both practices are working on the details of the merger and have begun the integration process for clients to make the merger 'as seamless as possible', said a statement.
